LGBTQ+ History Month Flag Raising

On Friday, October 6 @ 12 noon, the Office of LGBT Affairs will host the annual LGBTQ+ History Month Kick-off and National Coming Out Day Flag Raising event. In addition to raising the iconic More Color More Pride flag, this year’s program theme, Our Stories Can’t Be Banned, aims to highlight the LGBTQIA+ community’s resilience in the face of contemporary and historical censorship efforts. With a lineup of speakers from the Philadelphia LGBTQ+ community as well as a drag performance, poetry readings, a banned book giveaway, and a ballroom performance. The Philadelphia Office of LGBT Affairs will be raising the More Color, More Pride flag and highlighting the sheer resilience and longevity of the LGBTQ+ community.
